Home is the foundation of our lives
Recently the Parliament of Australia called for submissions from the public and civil society about how to alleviate homelessness in Australia.
The fact that in one of the richest countries in the world we have thousands of our fellow citizens and residents without a home should be repugnant to us all.
Here is an excellent submission on the topic, particularly on how homelessness impacts Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and on the ongoing impacts of colonisation and land theft that entrenches homelessness for their people and communities.
